High Point Jaycees inks agreement with

International Hot Boat Association (IHBA)

for July 99 Boat Drag Race

High Point, NC - November 1, 1998: This week at the 1998 Coors Light World Finals in Phoenix, AZ. the High Point Jaycees inked an agreement with the International Hot Boat Association of Albuquerque, NM. The new association will help bring in a higher caliber of top performance boats from across America as well as continuing to work with the local boats that are here in the southeast.

"We're excited about what this can mean for High Point!!"

says High Point Jaycees President Marty Frazier. "The relationship with IHBA is brand new to our boat race, but many of the people that we have worked with in the past are the same. They are a professional outfit that will be bringing more national sponsors, they are working on national television promotions, and it will be a national points race. We are pleased to be the first east coast race to move up to this national competition." Dates for the race are July 24 & 25, 1999.

The High Point Jaycees are a local civic organization that does such community service projects as Wheelchair Ramps, Operation Elf (for needy children's Christmas shopping), House of Prayer (Thanksgiving dinner). The Jaycees also run other projects to support the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center in Chapel Hill, Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center, Boys and Girls Home at Lake Waccamaw, and Cystic Fibrosis. The Junior Chamber Mission Inn, a pediatric aids facility in St. Louis is also one of the many charities sponsored.
