Windows 95 and 98 DNS Change Instructions
To change the DNS settings on your computer, please print and follow these instructions.
Double-click on My Computer.
Double-click on Dial-Up Networking
Click on the Community Web icon one time to highlight it.
Click on File, then click on Properties.
The next screen will have either a tab for Server Types at the top of the window or a button for Server Types near the bottom of the window. Click on the option for Server Types, either at the tab across the top of the screen, or the button across the bottom of the screen.
Click on the button for TCP/IP Settings.
In the second section, there should be a black dot next to Specify name server addresses.
Look at the Primary DNS section - it should be
216.162.1.1
The Secondary DNS Section should be
216.162.1.2
If you have anything else in these sections, highlight what is in there, delete it, and type in the numbers listed above. If the numbers match what is listed, DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING.
Click OK on each window, and exit out to the main screen. You are finished changing your DNS settings!
